Information processed when you visit
Our server records visits, including your IP address, browser user-agent, page path, visit time, browser language, timezone, on-site search terms, and selected navigation parameters such as page, sort, gender, and origin. We also record requests for name pages that are not yet available. Hosting infrastructure may process request logs to deliver and protect the service. Avoid entering private information into search fields or URLs.
Why we use this information
We use visit and search information to operate the site, measure readership, identify missing name profiles, diagnose failures, and protect the service from abuse. If you contact us, we use the information you provide to respond and address your request.
Google Analytics and browser storage
The production website uses Google Analytics 4 to understand site usage. Google may receive page URLs, device and browser information, online identifiers, and IP information and may set or read cookies. See how Google uses information from partner sites. You can manage cookies in your browser or use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. These controls do not prevent our own server-side visit records.
The daily fortune city picker stores your chosen city identifier in your browser’s local storage so it can remember that choice. You can remove it by clearing this site’s browser data.
Optional location
If you choose to use your current location, your browser asks for permission. The site sends latitude and longitude rounded to two decimal places to our server to find a nearby city. You can choose a city manually instead, or revoke location permission in your browser. City searches and selected cities are also sent to the server to provide this feature.
Service providers and disclosures
Railway hosts the site and its database; Google provides analytics. These providers process information in operating their services, potentially in countries other than your own. External links, including contact links on zzn.im, lead to sites governed by their own privacy practices. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or necessary to investigate abuse and protect the service.
Retention and security
Retention varies by data type and provider. Visit records currently do not have an automatic deletion schedule. Contact us to ask about or request deletion of information associated with you. We use technical safeguards to protect the service, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.
